Grassroots Opera, founded by Soprano Chloe Stratta and Mezzo Soprano Anna Marie McLachlan, are a new company of young professional singers passionate about bringing opera to rural locations. We present engaging and accessible operatic productions in  intimate settings, in its original language, with an exciting cast and creative team of emerging young professional artists.

Our project for Spring 2018 was Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice; our debut performances took place in two churches in East Devon (Kilmington and Uplyme) in February (see reviews and gallery). This was followed by six further performances throughout 2018 and Spring 2019 (see past performances), including an educational workshop and performance involving the children at Shute Primary School, kindly supported by Shute Festival of Literature and Landscape and the Joanna Leach Foundation.

Our next production for 2020 will be announced shortly.
